Il est fortement recommandé d'utiliser le système d'exploitation Raspberry Pi officiel, qui peut configurer directement le ventilateur pour régler la vitesse en fonction de la température du processeur via le contrôle de configuration Raspi. D'autres systèmes d'exploitation peuvent vous obliger à écrire vous-même le logiciel et à envoyer des signaux PWM au ventilateur via les broches GPIO pour contrôler la vitesse du ventilateur.
