Encre noire de Chine dense et fluide, idéale pour le dessin, la calligraphie et le travail au pinceau. Livrée dans un récipient en plastique avec bouchon à vis pour faciliter le transfert.
Utiliser pur pour les ombres denses et la peinture sumi-e ou diluer avec de l'eau pour les lavis d'encre et les effets de dégradés. Sèche pour donner un fini noir mat résistant à la lumière avec une légère brillance (en fonction de la capacité d'absorption de la surface).
Il fonctionne parfaitement avec nos crayons à tremper en bambou, nos crayons à dessiner et nos pinceaux chinois. Il est résistant aux bavures et réactif à l'eau sur la plupart des supports.
L'encre chinoise Sumi d'Artway est fabriquée à partir de suie d'huile de lampe (dérivée de la combustion d'huile végétale) mélangée à de l'eau et à un liant (non végétalien). Ce type d'encre est souvent appelé "Yuenboku" et est plus rare que l'encre standard à base de bois.
